Aw Nuts! Lightly Candied Pecans

Thanks to Brenda for this recipe. She has been making it for years for our family and now we always say, “Aw Nuts!” and laugh when she brings them.

Adjust the sugar to your liking. The original recipe calls for 1 cup but we tend not to need so much. I’ve also seen others use a mixture of brown sugar and white sugar. And if you are looking for something more savory, leave out the cinnamon. Or add cayenne if you like some kick. Or if you prefer more of a candy, replace the water with vanilla. So many options!

A great holiday gift in a reusable jar. And relatively healthy!
