Baked Mustard Soy Sauce Salmon

Thanks to my friend Vanessa who introduced this recipe to me. I tend to always cook my fish the same couple ways, and this was a pleasant surprise that made me crave that salmon sauce immediately upon tasting.

Asian Mustard Garlic Salmon

This super simple marinade/dressing flavors fresh salmon and thickens as it cooks, leaving a delicious layer of saltiness with hints of pungent garlic and mustard zing.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 3 tablespoons good soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons good olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 fillet of salmon, 1-3 pounds

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
  • Place salmon on a piece of foil or parchment paper on a sheet pan or cake pan.
  • Pour bowl contents on top of the salmon to cover the salmon completely.
  • Place in an oven at 400 degrees for 15 minutes or until the salmon is to your desired doneness.

Notes

If you want to avoid the chunks of garlic, this could be thrown into the blender and poured on to your fish. Want even more flavor? Marinate the fish in the sauce for a few hours, reserve a bit for cooking. Discard the marinade before placing the salmon on the baking sheet. Add the reserved dressing to the top of the salmon, and bake. This dressing could easily be done in bulk and stored in the fridge or freezer for even easier use!
